... to leave, but not before the option of buying some items from their shop in the kitchen - bread, salad dressings, coffee mugs etc. We said a big thankyou to our hosts and headed back towards Arcola. On the previous day Joe had noticed an outlet shopping mall not 10 miles from where we were staying so we made a bee-line for there. We arrived about 3:30pm and were pushed out the door of the last shop after 9pm!!! I bought quite a few things, Joe ...

Happy birthday to my love and my favorite clown, John! We celebrated after the show with wine, junk food, and four episodes of "Girls". A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)

... it was off to Sarah and Marvins home for an Amish brunch and a close up look at a couple of buggies.
Filled to overflowing we climbed back onto the bus and headed to Beachys Grocery Store...no fabric here but still worth a look at an interesting selection of food and household items.
Next stop was a little quilt shop called Melrose Quilts & Sewforth. Not much ...

... where her husband gave a little talk on modern quilting. Weeks is already at Paducah so we'll visit the booth when we go to the show. Next was a visit to the Field Museum in Chicago and lunch before boarding the bus for the three hour drive to Tuscola. Here we went to Flessor's Candy Kitchen for dinner....what a great place to visit. Good home ...

... M's, ice cream topping (in addition to the actual ice cream itself), chocolate bars, muesli bars, Pop Tarts, chocolate chip cookies, thickshakes, cereal, Oreos... and that's just to name a few! It seems to be that peanut butter is the US equivalent of Nutella's popularity in Europe.
