Left home at 8am Sun 12/28/14. Was cold : right at ZERO, Thru Wisc & Ill. Roads were great - no snow on ground after Madison WI. Just on the road. Shooting for Paduca/Tenn state line? Opie is a great traveler but he never sleeps - just sits in back looking out the windows. 5pm & 30 near Paris (?) ...

... size horses, of which one of the ponies has foaled just 8 hrs earlier. There was also a foal a day or so old and a mare about to fowl any hour. Joe Aldo climbed the ladder up to have a look at the hay loft. It was time to join the larger tour group that had just arrived for our traditional a Amish lunch. There was 81 planned for lunch and it was just a normal Amish house. We filed inside and sat at trestle tables with golfing chairs. We we asked not ...

Happy birthday to my love and my favorite clown, John! We celebrated after the show with wine, junk food, and four episodes of "Girls". A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)

... blue and red. All hand quilted and a similar age to the one I bought last year.
Another drive and we arrive at Clifford's home where his wife (name slips my memory) cooked up a beautiful meal including home baked bread and a chocolate cream pie to die for.
Time to head back to the hotel for a cuppa and a bit of shut eye.

Off to the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Oak Park (a suburb of Chicago)....he's a famous Chicago architect. A very interesting house to visit. His style was to create a room within a room and to blend the building with nature using panoramic windows to give the feel of nature flowing into the building. Then it was just a short walk to Weeks Ringles Modern ...
