... Elijah to go to sleep prior to arriving because he was so fired up (and insistent) to see the Welcome to Massachusetts sign. Finally, around 10:45pm he fell asleep but we pulled over at the sign a little over midnight and I roused him to look out the window and see it. He said, "I'm alive!" and promptly fell back into a deep sleep.

Said goodbye to the beautiful Montpelier this morning. We reached the northern most point of our journey. The plan for the day was to head off to Queechee Gorge as recommended by someone we met in Portland. So we fueled the car, plugged the address into the GPS and headed off.

So, I tried to pick up a lot of stuff for me and the kids at end of year clearance sales. Then, I would try it out during hiking, mostly at Beaver Lake Nature Center.
