Yorktown, Virginia Beach and Sand Sculptures
Today we headed off to Yorktown, the site of Cornwallis' defeat in the American War of Independence.
There are 2 sites, the battleground and associated museum which is a National Park and Yorktown victory which is a State Park. We have a senior pass for the National Park and bought tickets for the State Park. However, I put the State Park tickets somewhere safe and didn't find them until Saturday. Another reason I need adult supervision.

Williamsburg was the capitol of Virginia from 1699 to 1980.
Colonial WIlliamsburg is a private foundation that preserves the historic distict of Williamsburg.
Some of the buildings are original, some are recreations of the originals.
They also do re-enactments of certain events that occurred during the revolutionary war.
