Sunset Rock again, and North Haven

The room next door had 3 young men last night who were chatting loudly on the shared balcony, till 1am. I was about to go out asking them to please keep it down, but they quit around 1 so I did not bother. They apparently left this morning. When we walked by their room where the door was open, OMG - what a mess! Cereal box, all other stuff, littered all over. What kind of people were they?! Ugh!

We again got up pretty late, around 9. It was overcast outside, much ...

Sunset Rock, our favorite spot on Vinalhaven

We had a late start this morning - did not get up until 9am. I did not sleep too well - was not as tired as the first night so every little discomfort of the bed contributed to my not being able to sleep well. And it was quite warm, warmer than I'd like.

The weather today turned out to be warmer than yesterday, even though the weather forecast said it would be cooler, according to Bob. And it's very sunny. We walked to the bakery then to the grocery store ...

We woke up to a beautiful sunny day today, after a good night's sleep. I had the ambition to get up early hoping to catch some nice morning light, but not today - we both needed sleep. Also I honestly had no idea where would be a good spot. So we got up round 8, feeling good.

The motel provided breakfast - cereal, bagel, coffee, and banana, but we decided to walk to a nearby bakery that we discovered during last night's walk. Not a fancy bakery, but it ...

Set the alarm for 6am this morning to make sure we get to the ferry by 8:10 - we bought the service provided by Tidewater motel so someone would be there to stand in line for us and when we got there we just swap cars. We did not go to bed till around midnight. Unfortunately I was not able to sleep at all - the espresso dessert I had really did me in :-( Somehow Bob did not sleep too well either. Oh well ....

Breakfast came with our hotel room - simple ...

Stress and Setbacks

... When the Bay of Fundy hits the high tide mark, the river reverses its direction flow and flows back upstream. It wasn’t exactly a falls, more like a rapid and we saw it when it was low tide so the river was flowing out into the bay. Its unique, but not hugely exciting. Later when we returned at midday, the river had stopped flowing at mid tide.

Next we hit Tim Hortons which is one of the things that I’ll miss most about Canada. I ...
