... Pinxos restaurant she, Ev, and Jullie had loved 3 weeks earlier. It was truly amazing and we enjoyed talking with a lovely british couple who now run a B&B in Provence. Judy and the kids had a wet but fun time, as the weather had finally turned south.
I don't really need to tell you what we did do I? Take one part playground, one part beach, and one part sunset and you have a Kramer day in Biarritz.
Judy spent the day with Pierre, a former wrestler and French Olympic wresting coach (he went with the team to Atlanta) who she had met on the train ride a few days ...
Biarritz, Aquitaine, France kramertown... we tried to get a lesson from our hostel but they said the instructor wasn´t available. I think he was hungover because I saw him moping around the hostel. We rented boards and head out to Playa Zuricola, tons of surfers were out and the waves look meanacing. Thank god the dude renting the boards told us where the ...
San Sebastián - Donostia, Basque, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjon... that, and about religion. i had been nervous about meeting ¨religious¨people on the trail, as i wasn´t sure how open i was able to talk about my feelings and questions on religious matters. however, he has proved to be very very open to discussion and a very great companion to help me start asking some questions as to why i am here on the camino. religious concerns may not be the primary reason, but questioning of a greater power is pretty constant in my life. exhausted, from the ...
Roncesvalles, Navarra, Spain and Canary Islands jciafoneOur first day was just a short walk from Roncesvalles to Viscarret (about 15km) it was too late and we called the next village (Zubiri) but was full, so we stopped in that village, the drawback was the price of the hostel, cuz in that village there's no refuge, but me and my mum could sleep in a great room with our bath, the first and last pilgrimage luxury.
Our first impression: this is pretty easy! we don't feel tired, so tomorrow we should walk much more!
We arrived to Roncesvalles from Madrid at 1pm so we decided to start our trip that afternoon.
After take our first pictures we asked the people from the village we began our trip, we felt very strong as if we were going to eat the world!!!
Roncesvalles was amazing, our first impression of the Camino couldn't be greater, the refuge is like a great castle, there we get our first stamp!!!
The Camino has started! Buen Camino!
Roncesvalles, Spain and Canary Islands cavallette... and ceiling into the lines of their drawings. This is the original graffiti, but it tells us more about our world than "Maria te amo Rodrigo" ever will. Even the Paleolithic equivalent of tagging - reverse "air brushed" hand prints - give us useful anthropological data**. Does this mean that "Crusha", "Spaz" and "Taza" will contribute more to future knowledge than that we couldn't spell and had a highly-stylised lettering system? We spent the night in Santillana del Mar, population ...
