My room was perfect!I loved my view and the location. Breakfast was wonderful. Thanks for the hot chocolate and tea and coffee :) The Lecornu family was completely marvelous and gracious. Thank you for an excellent stay in Normandy.

We stayed at Les Remparts in Bayeux, France. It was a great place to drive with a rental car to the D-day beaches. Our time with the Lecornu family was relaxing and fun. It was nice to see how a French family lives. We found the local grocery stores and had "picnics" most of the week. We could walk all over Bayeux within minutes, all of which was …

We took the train from Paris to Bayeux and are headed to the small town (nearby) called Planquery (Edith Piaf was raised there & her grave is there too). We stayed with Roel & Pia Klinkhammer at a B&B in this rural area. Roel is Dutch and runs guided tours of the D-day beaches. All of it was fantastic.

Well it is hard to believe we are at the end of our excellent adventure. Let's hope the trip to the airport and turning the car in are in eventful. Turning the car in when we got to Munich was a nightmare. The address on the rental agreement was a blocked off car park and munich is no place to be driving if you know where you're going, let alone if you have no clue. The whole car thing there was a bit difficult but it's over and all good and ...
