... Christ doing the judging so they didn't need him there. interesting.

Also the interior walls and little chapels that are made from the massive pillars on the outside have been painted years after the cathedral was built so many of the walls are more geometric and decorative than mural and religious like. also interesting.

Our guide wanted to take us into the choir room which was at the back but it was being restored so ...

... so we went to the villages next to Loze and visited the little Chapel of Notre Dame De Graces, at Lacapelle-Livron. Unfortunately could not go inside but it looked lovely perched high on the hill in the mist. Also went to the larger church at St Pierre-Livron with houses all around it and again perched on a rock cliff. Again could not go inside but we wandered into the little family cemetery next door. ... but was originally from Mangere. The chateau owners also have an extensive art collection together with an impressive collection of armour including one from Henry II and also the black knight. The art included some Tim Burton as they are friends with him. We really enjoyed visiting a restored chateau. Time to head back to the watermill where we enjoyed our salads and quiche plus bottle of champagne. ...

... to the tower up a total of 119 steps. One of the things we loved about the ruins was it had not been spoiled by glass barriers or any barriers at all and very few signs around the place. One of the best chateau castle ruins we had visited. The town itself is a photographers dream with stunning views and beautiful streets and houses at every turn. Found a patisserie at the top where we bought a local specialty sweet bread loaf called Fouace. ...

... with the Mayor of Loze. He was elected last year - has to have 11 others elected with him and as two wanted to stand for Mayor that was 22 out of a population of 126 in the commune of Loze. The girls had stayed behind at the watermill. Christina put together toasties for dinner and also had salad, bread and cheese sitting outside in the warm with a glass of red wine and finishing with dark chocolate. This is the life.
