Right away the group is split in two and the first group start to cook their own lunch while the other has time to wandering around for 45 minutes. Marseille is...... ok, the water is very pretty, you get some good views of the islands and city from the Notre Dame, and they have a really good shopping area but the rest was sort of just ho-hum, nothing special. It didn't feel distinctly French at all, it could have been a city anywhere in Europe, or Canada for that matter. I was walking down a street and was reminded of Commercial. Plus it just didn't feel that welcoming or friendly.

Actually had time, on our way back from Nice, to stop by Aix-en-Provence and tour the city. It was so, so beautiful; we were able to visit the Museum of Natural History and the Museum Granet. Next time we stop by Carly and I will definitely be sure to visit Cezanne's vacation home though! But for a short séjour for quelques heures it was not bad at all.
