... It was unbelievable.. I am still in disbelief that we actually got to see this place :) We then drove to Belgium which will be our last stop on the journey. Riley's host parents, Francis and Bernadette, are some of the most lovely people I have met. ... the self guided tour turned out to be just right and we enjoyed our visit. Namur had far surpassed our expectations. It was a great stop.
-we drove on to our hotel in Rochefort. Our host was a bit grumpy and the room had alot of road noise. A bit of a disappointment.

Spent the day in Paris catching up with Baz and Rob while trying out an assortment of activities along the Seine, interspersed with a few beers by the water. I actually felt like being on holiday for a day or so.

We had all taught English together in Chile ten years before so for me this seemed like an appropriate way to start my trip, like a less sophisticated Before Sunset.

... it had to do. Isi tried reversing slowly (still with line attached for safety) so we could retrieve it but the wash from our engine caused it to go back even further! The boat hook drifted towards the party boat which was much lower in the water than us, and after signalling to them about the situation, and to much cheering they retrieved it for us. So to the man who designed the fence and the idiot who dreamed it up, you need your bumps felt! We did manage on all ...

The night was cold again... I slept in my jacket))

It was a strange system of heating in our sleeping/dining room... As it was a school dining room it was heated during the day but the heating was turned off at night... It's like children should be warm during their being in that dining room..ok... but what about us?

I still don't understand why they couldn't do anything with that heating...
