    ... a tablecloth...but couldn't find a square one. Then we walked over past the Pitti Palace to peak in the gardens and saw a part we hadn't seen from the inside...check the pictures.     ... sweetest birthday ever. They not only let a complete stranger live with them, but then they remembered my birthday and cared enough to throw me a little party. The Sunday before, Samantha's host dad also taught me to make gnocci since it was my birthday week and he knew it was my favorite! Thursday I left for Florence, Tuscany with Samantha.     ... and ostentatious! Our local guide was very knowledgeable and the commentary on each building was informative. After literally soaking up the atmosphere we decided to have lunch at the local trattoria and seek shelter from the rain. Our meals were simple but delicious!
