      ... The Gateway Arch is the vision of renowned architect Eero Saarinen. The Gateway Arch commemorates Thomas Jefferson's vision and St. Louis' role in the westward expansion of the United States. Jefferson signed the Louisiana Purchase which helped make the USA whole.
