... Little Egrets: a bird normally associated with the wetlands of Africa but increasingly resident in south Britain. Bideford looked a pretty town set on the side of a hill, looking down the estuary. Once in the centre though, it felt like it had seen better days, though as we walked out of town, westwards, we passed a large, new secondary school and an even larger housing estate, still being finished. "Better days are coming soon, now ...

A day that started off very well but ended up being a slog especially for me as my feet were very sore. We started up on the moor of course as Warren Farm is a moorland farm. It was another lovely sunny morning, so the first few miles walking gave us tremendous views across the tops to the sea. When we stopped we had a wonderful sighting of a female peregrine initially ...

Another long day but very rewarding as we have walked through some marvellous countryside. The day started well with the owner of the Notley Arms opening up early to give us breakfast and a donation! He also advised us to have a quick look at Monksilver church on our way out of the village as one of the gargoyles purports to be the first known representation of a dentist! You can judge! The first part of the day saw us walking through some of the most ...
