The night before
School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.
The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.
We've got so many exciting new experiences ahead of us crammed into a 7 week trip. South East Asia here we come!

Morning of NY
... was 5:45 a.m. We had a knock at the door at 5:40, not quite ready had a nervous rush on, despite a calm morning. I was greeted by a lady claiming to be the taxi driver. All seemed nice at first, but after precisely 16 seconds her persona changed to very frustrated and asked, "what time is the flight?" Of course I had no idea so asked Charlotte..."10:30". What happened next was simply uncalled for. [taxi lady] "your flight is at 10:30...it's 5:45 now, ...
Liverpool.....Yeh, Yeh, Yeh
How is England different from the US?
The USA has a Kidney Bank, while England has a Liverpool.
OK, let's finish our groaning and get on with this, the latest installment of our blog. According to the map, Liverpool, on the Mersey River, was just a few hours north of Bath, but with flooded rail tracks, getting there proved to be a major headache. We, together with hundreds of others anxious to get to their respective destinations on this Friday ...
Liverpool is way cool :-)
... another dozen times upon knocking back his whiskeys. Jo his mate was giving him a heap of **** and telling us about the lay of the land here all the while Simons having a great old chuckle playing his shots on the pool table. Played a few games of pool then headed home for the night. Next day checked out the city centre and walked around the dock area which was pretty cool and took a few pics. then in the evening did a mini ...
Easy day =)
... eat a large supper (which is actually what they call lunch in England), and lucky for me I got a true English breakfast!!! Let me say that English bacon trumps Canadian bacon in every way shape or form. It is thick with little to no fat, Comeon Canada lets pick it up in the bacon department (says the girl who just got a Jew tattoo, haha)! After our huge meal (my appetite was coming back at this point) we went for a drive to Southport. Southport is about ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Leatham Park Hotel Blackpool
Excellent
Excellent and very friendly.
It was our first time there, made you feel very welcome.
Brilliant location.
I could not believe our son, we could not stop him talking to suzanne, as he is normally shy and will not say a word until he knows you.we really enjoyed staying there.
We can not wait to book up next year.
All bring well see you next year

Great hotel
Just returned from a weekend at the Leatham Park hotel. We are a family of 2 adutls and 5 children and Suzanne didnt bat an eyelid when we arrived! The family room had a double bed and 2 sets of bunkbeds which was perfect for us. It was at the front of the hotel though so on a busy weekend it was a bit noisy at night but the children didnt seem to mind! The only downside was that there is no easy parking - you have to park up the road which wouldnt be a problem if you dont need the car all weekend but if you do you could find yourself without a space anywhere. Suzanne makes a great breakfast and is an amazing hostess...thank you so much Suzanne!
Excellent location
brilliant b&b helpful and friendly family who run it. would def go again.
the location is approx 5-8 mins walk from the clubs which is good you dont want to be staying next to them as its very noisy up there.
all groups and couples seemed to really enjoy their weekends and was very reasonable price so def recommend
Fabulous weekend
I came to Blackpool to stay at the Leatham Park hotel with a group of girls for a hen weekend. The hotel catered for us brilliantly and I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Suzanne and Stuart were extrememly welcoming and friendly and it was like a home from home. The breakfast was fabulous in the morning.
I would love to come back to this hotel. We had an amazing time here and they were really good at catering for hen weekends.
THANK YOU!!
Hen WeekendSolutions
Just come back from an amazing two night stay in Blackpool. The owners of the Leatham Park Hotel were very helpful and always point us in the best direction for food and entertainment. They also provided a special Hen Party game of Bingo and Pass the Parcel - a good way to start the night. The beds were really comfortable and the place to stay was an ideal location, very central without paying over the odds. I would recommend to anyone whether for a weekend for hen or stag parties as well as the families for a week long visit.
Jen's Hen Weekend
Well, what can I say!
From the first moment I contacted Suzanne back in March asking about this weekend (18th-20th August 2006), she has been an absolute god-send! Not only did she agree to having 13 ladies stay for 2 nights, but it was even after hearing we were going to be there for a Hen Weekend.
Our previoulsy planned 5-hour journey in the Mini-bus from Southampton turned out to be 11 hours, and even that did not faze them. We were welcomed as soon as we invaded the Lounge Bar with our million suitcases and were directed to the nearest pub/restuarant to get our energy back up.
The Saturday night was already booked, Funny Girls, but Suzanne arranged a bountiful buffet and naughty party games to get us in the mood. There was even enough left over for us to munch when we returned from a fabulous night out.
We have already started talking about returning next year for the Hen Anniversary!! The rooms were perfect, the buffet and cooked breakfasts were much needed and the reception andfriendliness really made the weekend run smoothly.
Very friendly and helpful

August 2006
We stayed for one night to visit the Pleasure Beach and found Suzanne and stuart to be very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Suzanne's home cooked evening meal was fab just what we needed after a long day. The breakfast the following morning was also superb. The location of the hotel is perfect for all Blackpool has to offer with ample free parking. We will definately be back for another visit soon.
Homely and friendly for all.
I found the hotel to be very well equipt, and very central to all ammienities
the room was perfectly clean and well equipt susane and stewart were very friendly and profesional.
meals were excelent for myself and girlfriend and her nephew.
the meals were also adapted for my dietary needs as i am diabetic.
susanne and stewart were also helpfull in advising us on special offers for eg pleasure land or sea world ect ect.
over all the 4 day there were excellent value for money and it was great to stay in a hotel that made you very welcome and also to feel at home.
i would definaterly recomend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in blackpool.
Cracking Weekend!
We have just had a lovely weekend in Blackpool! We stayed at the Leatham Park Hotel, which was like home from home! The rooms are clean and very homely, the breakfast was great too! Stuart and Suzanne are lovely hosts and we are hoping to go back later in the year.
Always a pleasure
We have just returned from our fourth stay at the Leatham Park hotel and have enjoyed yet another fantastic night! This is the only B&B I have kept coming back to year after year because the welcome is always warm and friendly, and the rooms are always immaculately clean. Sometimes it can be very difficult to find somewhere that is happy to take on same sex groups for just one night in Blackpool but Leatham feels like a home from home, and they also cater equally as well for families.
The owners are wonderful and full of fun, and I really look forward to going back again next year! This place really is a little bit special, and I would never consider staying anywhere else in Blackpool, it just wouldn't feel the same!
