We're sitting at our BandB having coffee (strong!) bread and jam....the fourlegged owner of the establishment is sitting in Gary's lap enjoying being given the appropriate homage....
We visited 2 Chateux yesterday and attempted to enter the city of Bordeax (5thlargest in France)
Yikes. No more of that.

... it is repairing itself so hopefully a few easyish days and a rest in bordeaux should sort the problem. I had lots of energy and the ride was easy, i made such good time i had to go slow for the last 20-30k so i didn't get there too early. Weather has finally turned good with a blazing sun and temperatures into the low 20's.
The B&B is superb. Bridegette the owner is very welcoming. She worked in Paris all her life and 5 years ago decided to go for a quieter life ...
All aboard for Bordeaux
Another grey day but a little warmer at 17c. Today we have a pre booked excursion for the whole group with Maryse of Bordeaux Excursions. There is a small hitch as we have a misunderstanding about meeting times but at 9am we meet and set off in her immaculate minibus. As we have all toured vineyards before we have opted to go around Bordeaux city today.

I do like to be beside the seaside!
... by the time we arrive it has stopped raining so we walk down the short street from the church square where the shuttle stops towards the sea. The market is still opening up and we stop to talk very haltingly in school French to a beekeeper who is bringing honeycombs and equipment to the tourist information office to show how they extract the honey. He gives us some honeycomb to try,very sweet and VERY sticky!
The market is a local market selling meat,fish, fruit and veg ...
"Venice of the North"
... 30 minutes pointing out the highlights. The low bridges, willow trees hanging over canals and swans are some of the best views from the cruise. But, our favorite was Fidel, a dog that lays hanging out of a 2nd story window overlooking the canal (the “most photographed dog in the world”).
After the cruise, we got to see "the shot" of Bruges...you know, the one you see if you Google it. So, of course, we had to get a few shots of that. ...
