... It was amazing to see the giant oak barrels they used, row after row of them. They have a tiny hole at the front of them that was used as a door for the workers to climb inside and sand down the inside of the barrels between each batch of wine. With a little help from Edgar (our guide) we were able to climb in and out of old wine barrels – not possible at a functioning winery. Antigua Bodega Giol has the largest oak barrel in the world which was gifted to them from France. ...

Once I got home, N took me on an orientation of our area in Mendoza. We're not far from "downtown" and we are ridiculously close to the park. And now, I'm sitting at a petrol station using their free WiFi and I just re-certified my rank order list. Please let it be known on Match Day that my final decisions were made at a gas station in Mendoza.

... a lot more rustic than the first. Rather than a tasting we just bought a bottle to share here. The third vineyard was so lovely that we decided it was the perfect place to stop for lunch. We were all in need of some decent food to soak up the vino we were consuming as well.
