... packing system into disarray but they fit me perfectly. After doing that I did visit Pont Saint Bénezet as its properly known. The walk to the bridge passed many souvenir shops selling lavender products and textiles in the Les Olivades style. Some were genuine Les Olivades but I assume a lot weren't. Lavender and textiles are two prominent traditional industries here. The Bridge is only a remnant of the original structure. Four ...

... Very old, very narrow, and very stone. Then to Avignon to stay right in the centre of this walled-city. Hotel de L'Horloge overlooking the main square - had to park 700 metres away and 'drag' though. Walked the inside for a few hours, found an Irish pub for a pint and then observed how the palais and cathedral looked at night. Beautiful. Today we left our gite in Provence and headed for Avignon. Day started out cool still windy but soon calmed and became warm. We stopped off at a small hill town, Le Barroux, for a walk and cafe. We arrived safely in Avignon after 7 hours in the car which made it a long day with stops along the way. Reims is very beautiful, home to the great French champagne companies of the world - Pommery, Veuve and Tattinger. In Avignon we are Staying in an apartment just near Palais des Papes.
