Historical Traveler Reviews of Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard Paso Robles
Absolutely fabulous!

We stayed at Le Domaine for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The beautiful French style home is perched on a hill overlooking their vineyard. Our room, the Cuvee room on the first floor was large and decorated with antiques and luxurious fabrics--very elegant and comfortable. We relaxed on the beautiful covered terrace--surrounded by the vines and beautiful landscaped garden. The view are magnificent in every direction--mountains and rolling hills. We were surprised at the convenient location close to Hwy 101 but quiet and isolated. It made for the perfect location for touring all of the wineries. Our hosts provided free tastings to several wineries once they discussed our preferences. Nice touch. The breakfasts are delicious with fresh baked pastries, the freshest fruits of the season elaborately presented. We asked for several recipes so we could try to recreate them at home. We were so pleased to find this place--we are pretty fussy and are not always B & B pp, but this was a delightful experience.
Not just a B&B - it's a home!

What a beautiful and peaceful setting. This is not your typical 1920's B & B where the rooms are so small you can't fit your luggage in them. This is a newer home with lots of room and comfortable inviting decor. The kitchen and dining area are just amazing. The food is out of this world (request the Mango soup for breakfast). The view of the vineyads and mountains from the second floor bedroom is breathtaking. When you sit out on the enormous patio in the comfy lounge furniture, you look right into the vineyard just beyond the perfectly manicured landscaping. I could not stop taking pictures. The owners are your best friends the minute you walk in the door and their cat will charm you. I only wish I lived there!

Worth seeking out Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard
from A TripAdvisor Member
Paso Robles has a new bed and breakfast and it is definitely worth seeking out. We found Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard on the web, and their website enticed us to try it. It is absolutely gorgeous "French Country chic meets wine country warmth". The owners have opened their lovely wine country estate home to guests, and we felt extremely welcomed and looked after throughout our stay. A Paso Robles vacation is extremely rewarding. It is a beautiful area of California, as yet undiscovered by crowds. Our hosts shared lots of tips on where to visit such as small wineries, the best time to visit and which tour to take at Hearst Castle, where to view the elephant seals (unusual creatures in their natural habitat), which restaurants to try, etc. The views from Le Domaine are spectacular. The gardens are artfully designed and it is clear the place is a labor of love for the owners, who moved here from Chicago several years ago to follow their dream of having a vineyard property. Breakfasts are delicious and creative, and there are fresh-baked cookies awaiting you on arrival, along with a selection of wines. The rooms are very nicely decorated, with down comforters, luxurious sheets and robes, and an elegant flair throughout. Everything was absolutely top notch.
Gorgeous,charming and amazingly gracious

Le Domaine has taken the term Bed and Breakfast to mean gorgeously appointed estate and gourmet level brunch. Le Domaine is set in a bed of rolling hills that is reminiscent of Ireland or some other untouched area of Europe. The proprioters of Le Domaine, John and Nan Moss have created an Inn to surpass all! Though it has been newly constructed every detail will remind the visitor of an old french Estate...its beautiful. An the Mosses are the most gracious hosts that one could find while visiting this wine country. The rooms and beding were fit for a princess and the breakfast was fit for a king. I would go out of my way to stay here again!
French Country in Paso

Surprised my wife with a stay here--it was a great hit. Beautiful home in a vineyard. Great service from friendly hosts. Delicious food with attention to our needs., Great for winery touring--in the center of things but in the quiet country. Convenient to town of Paso Robles too. L'Aventure, Pipestone, Lenne Calodo wineries were favorites--Le Domaine steered us to wineries according to our tastes.
What a find! Our favorite place
from A TripAdvisor Member
Paso Robles is one of our favorite escapes. We especially like the quality of the accommodations we have found at the small B &Bs there. We have found the innkeepers to be enthusiastic about creating a great experience for their guests with great settings, delicious food and gracious hospitality. Nowhere have we found this more evident than at our newest discovery there, Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard. It came highly recommended to us and we were anxious to try it. It's a beautiful country French home where their vineyard comes right up to the beautiful terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings. The rooms are decorated with a casually elegant flair--tasteful touches are everywhere. We felt transported to Provence or Tuscany when looking at the breathtaking views of rolling hills, vineyards as far as the eye can see and the mountains beyond. The hosts are extremely congenial and knowledgeable about wine, fine dining and wine country pursuits. The food was terrific and beautifully presented. We learned a lot about the vineyard and enjoyed our early morning walks through it. A lovely place--we look forward to returning.
Wonderful Experience

Had a wonderful stay at Le Domain. Food was excellent and catered to our tastes, and owners took time to recommend some fun and interesting local wine producers and some great local restaurants. We stayed on the bottom floor in a corner room - very comfortable, quiet, private bath, and there were very nice "small" touches - and the world's best bathrobes! (I'm serious). Home is settled on a small hill among vineyards, and is new and elegant with "comfy" touches. High ceiling in main room with fireplace. Open gourmet kitchen floorplan that encourages conversation with the owner. Nice patio outside. Very relaxing and great for a de-stress weekend. Only negative: Local cat apparently camped out on our car left a "lord of the dance" sequence of little pawprints all over our car hood. There are worse tragedies in life.
The Best Place to Stay in Paso Robles, CA

This past fall my husband and I planned a trip to Paso Robles, California during one of the biggest events of the year in that area -- the Wine Harvest Festival. We stayed at Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard, it was absolutely fabulous. We were greeted by the owners, Nan and John Moss when we arrived with a fine bottle of red wine and a plate of French cookies.
Le Domaine is a luxurious bed and breakfast, filled with beautiful French country antiques, very spacious, room to roam and relax. It was like staying in a place featured in Architectual Digest (and it should be, the decor was stunning!) We had a private room with a private bath. The attention to detail Nan and John pay to every detail cannot go unnoticed, right down to the lush Kashwere bathrobes. There is plenty of room to relax around the house and on the grounds. There is a beautiful Great Room where you can sit and read a book next to the fireplace (it was so warm while we were there, we didn't need to light a fire) or a spacious den where you can relax and watch TV. There is a terrace out back that overlooks the vineyard. The views from the terrace and around the property are breathtaking. Every evening, begining with the night we arrived, we sat out on the terrace, drank a bottle of wine and watched the stars. There are so many stars to view from their location, far enough away from any big city, it seemed like we were looking at other galaxies. Every night we could just sit and count all the shooting stars we observed, at least six to a dozen every night.
And the breakfasts were the best I have ever eaten. The presentation was so grand, I had to even take a picture of one of our breakfasts before diggin in! The first morning we had Creme Brulee French Toast, it was the most delicious French toast ever. It was served with a thick, spicy bacon that also was the best I had ever tasted. Another breakfast was a spinach omelet served with the plumpest, juiciest chicken sausages. And every breakfast was served with French pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. Milk and cereal was available, too, if you wanted. Again, the attention to detail at Le Domaine is unsurpassed.
The location of the B&B is perfect. It is set right in the heart of Paso Robles, within walking distance to a number of wineries, and only a short scenic drive from many of the others in the surrounding area. Nan and John are full of ideas for where to go and what to do. We were only a short drive from a number of golf courses and downtown Paso. Nan had recommend a visit to the Paso Robles Hot Spring and Spa, it was a wonderful experience. Without Nan's recommendation, I wouldn't have even thought of it. At the spa we relaxed in a hot tub overlooking the rolling hills of the countryside. The Mosses really know the area and can help you plan a number of activities to do while in Paso Robles, and they have great recommendations for the best wineries to visit and the best restaurants in town. If you like sightseeing, they know the best scenic drives. We took a road trip through Big Sur up to Pebble Beach, it was a day trip, and along the way we stopped at a spot along the ocean where the elephant seals come in for the season to rest and mate. There were hundreds of them, maybe thousands, and it was only the start of the season.
We had such a great time on our vacation, Nan and John went over the top to assure we had the best time. We will definitely return to Paso Robles and will most definitely stay at Le Domaine again. I would recommend Le Domaine to anyone. It was a luxurious experience, the food was great, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the hospitality was beyond expectations. The Mosses are wonderful hosts, two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They really made us feel at home. We look forward to the chance to visit again.

Found a Real Gem in Wine Country

What a discovery to have found the beautiful Le Domaine at Moss Ridge Vineyard in Paso Robles. "Domaine" means estate in French, and we felt like priveleged guests throughout our stay here. The private gate at the drive ensured privacy and lent to the feeling of entering a special place. Great hosts, and sensational food and service. Our room, named Cuvee, was elegant with beautiful bedding and appointments. We viewed the other rooms, Veraison and Terroir, and they are exquisite too. Wine country touches are everywhere. The rooms are named after wine terms, and reflect the hosts' enthusiasm for all things related to the vine. They are growers of Syrah and sell to some great wineries like Andrew Murray, Babcock, Point Concepcion and Summerwood. They took great care of us, sharing their tips and insider recommendations. Very convenient to everything, and easy to find, with no winding roads to navigate at night getting there. Could go on and on but will try to post pictures, which speak volumes.
