... the roof terrace just outside the window, the corridor passes through the residence directly behind our hotel.

Towards the end there is a glass mirrored door and a sharp right hand turn, (we suspect the mirrored door conceals another passage section into the Pitti palace itself). We emerge into the Boboli gardens next to a courtyard and grotto, looking back the door we have come out of is a simple grey door, the one we saw yesterday.

Day 2 in Florence. Went down to breakfast at 7:30 and met the Gordons. Have a day scheduled with Helen Bailey, recommendation of Carole Beswick's, and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
