... 45 minutes train ride south of Madrid, not wanting to brave the capital's traffic, this seems a good choice to base selves for 2 days of Madrid's massive collection of ART.... The Prado overwhelmingly huge but worth every cent just to see Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights, a painting I've been in awe of for nearly fifty years.. extraordinary!!!! and a special exhibition of El Greco who inspired everyone from Picasso to Pollock. Goya- amazing. SO MUCH!!! should have ...

    Market Day

... wrinkled"; in this case it means, "used clothes." Score!

After walking the length of the market, we decided to go to the Salon du Thé by the hotel. We were quite parched. We decided to sit outside, so I went in to order two iced teas. ... drive, stopping to go into an antiques store along the road. We finally made it into to VdR and checked into the hotel.

We were tired, but decided to head over to the house. Hunter had never been there before. We went in, and she got to take a look. Of course, we could only be on the ground floor; there are no stairs to the main floor or attic. It was nice to finally be able to show her, though.

We went to bed at 8 pm...jet lag.

... schnitzel and breaded eggplant which was delicious. After a bit we all went to the concert a bit tipsy. The music was great (a replacement singer had been found as the original's daughter had been assaulted that morning), a good mix of classic blues and country, plenty of Johnny cash. After the concert we had a few more drinks and, as far as I remember, went to bed fairly early. I love you, ...
