After walking the length of the market, we decided to go to the Salon du Thé by the hotel. We were quite parched. We decided to sit outside, so I went in to order two iced teas. No one was around, even when I offered a couple of "bonjours." Then I saw a bell that said (in French) to ring if no one is around. Ring, I did. It amazes me that it works that way. ... crusted veal with some sort of rice side, and Hunter got a melon and ham salad. We both got the most delicious apple crumble for dessert. I had never eaten at Chez Lucien before. I like it--it's a keeper.
We went back to the hotel, again going by the architects office. The dog was there, but not the architect, so I called and left a message from the hotel. We're just relaxing now.
... drive, stopping to go into an antiques store along the road. We finally made it into to VdR and checked into the hotel.
We were tired, but decided to head over to the house. Hunter had never been there before. We went in, and she got to take a look. Of course, we could only be on the ground floor; there are no stairs to the main floor or attic. It was nice to finally be able to show her, though.
We went to bed at 8 pm...jet lag.
... schnitzel and breaded eggplant which was delicious. After a bit we all went to the concert a bit tipsy. The music was great (a replacement singer had been found as the original's daughter had been assaulted that morning), a good mix of classic blues and country, plenty of Johnny cash.
