... floors in the centre of the tower were gone so that you could stand at the bottom and see right up and out of the roof, 5 floors in all, but each one enormously high in itself. The array of fireplaces and doorways and windows all opening into this space was stunning. ... were shutting but still managed to buy some seafood before the fish market closed. In the afternoon we went wandering around the town which was just lovely. There remains parts of the old town wall and ramparts, loads of half timbered houses etc. Just lovely.
