This morning was a packup morning as we moved to one of jesses friends apartments for the next 2 weeks. The apartment is very homely feeling with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so plenty of space and we are only paying $800 for 2 weeks stay ( very lucky). We went for lunch at keystone ski resort and we're planning on going tubing for the afternoon ( where you sit InTyre-like things and go down man-made snow covered tube hills) but it was booked out for the afternoon. Today we we went to a different place to ski- arapahoe basin. Slightly higher elevation (11,000-13,000 feet) than copper mountain but also a smaller ski village. An overcast day with just a small snow shower in the afternoon. We all skied together including Jesse, Lori and Jackson. Jackson is 10 and is a great skier as he practises we every week of the season. He was great helping out the kids and jazzy really enjoyed ...
... is 25 minutes but today we had the worst traffic I have ever seen...bumper to bumper for miles on the main highway..we decided to take another road only to find out after detouring around 20 mins to take this road it had been closed due to winds! So then took another route but overall the drive took us 2 hours!! And I was driving!! Luckily Harvey slept most of the way and jazzy was very patient sitting in the car. The heavy traffic was probably due to snow on the road ...
... Talkeetna to the Kenai in Alaska before returning home the day before Julie's beloved Italian patriarchal grandfather died. I flew to Orlando for my canonical exams in Central Florida, flew back to Allentown, Pennsylvania for her grandfather's funeral, and then settled down in my Old Testament professor's house for the summer working in the seminary bookstore...all without a job.
