    ... museum was astonishing, and it turns out that getting there early on a weekday helped me beat the crowds. As I was leaving, the museum was getting more and more crowded. I was glad that I was able to avoid that.

    ... temporary fences and trucks all about. I think, between the pedestrian issue and the car congestions, the canal was the best way to get about. We sailed up and down the canals, saw bike parking stations that just have to be seen to be believed. We visited the Tulip Museum, and had a quick gander at Van Goghs Museum and Rembrandts House. Then back to Anne Frank's House - by now this is our third try to get into this place - and the line has not changed in length. ...

    ... served in oil and onion. He was like a pig in ****, so excited to be gobbling it up. I tried some, and while it was ok, I probably won't ever get as excited as he was for it, or anything really. And I like to get excited, but this was something else!     VERSMOLD --> AMSTERDAM Got the train from Dissent-Bad Rothenfelde to Amsterdam (changing at Rotterdam). Arrived at our hostel which was just on the border of the red light district. Dumped our bags, had a quick bite to eat (including a gelato!) and then went off on a walking tour of the city.
