... to the Castle of Good Hope from the harbor area. We started out, stopping at the statues at Nobel Square and of course, as soon as we were away from any building, the heavens let loose. We got drenched as we trudged through sheets of rain and winds that kept threatening to turn our umbrellas inside out. I won't bore you with the rest, but we ended up hailing a cab.

The houses in Amsterdam are narrow and tall to save on tax and often
lean as a result of the soil they are built on.

After the tour (and wow was it an eye opener!) we headed off to find our own dinner, have a few drinks then make our way back to the Hostel for some rest.
Up relatively early this morning for a Bike Tour of the city with "Mikes Bike tours" - we headed off in about groups of 20. Bikes are one of the main forms of transport on the Netherlands and just about everyone has one!! The roads are pretty crazy! ...
