    ... here most haircuts are around 45 Euro! Eventually managed to find a place a bit cheaper & came away unscathed.

    Then into town on a tram, got off at the waterfront to see some of the cool new buildings there including the Bimhaus Concert Hall & the EYE film institute (see photos) which looked pretty amazing - more like it just landed than was actually built.

    Off to dinner in Weesp for our last night ...

    Troy and I got up at 5am and went for a run up to the Royal Palace and a few other sights. It was really lovely with ************e around. We headed off to Amsterdam this morning, not before seeing the Atomium in Brussels which was built for the World Fair in 1958. It was actually a pretty impressive piece. We stopped for the 'must do' cheese and clog making demonstrations. The clog maker was very entertaining. ...

    ... on the 4th floor of this random building. The staff were really friendly and our rooms are quite quirky, with quirky floral & woodland wallpaper, and each bunk has a pink pinstripe cushion with a bull dog on it. Random, but cute. Once we'd checked in, we headed towards the main station and the city.

    While the houses and little farmyards with animals were all postcard-worthy, the point of coming here was to see how clogs are made. Nowadays it is far more automated, and Joel the clog man took us from a chunk of moist poplar wood through 2 machines to what was pretty much a clog.
