Caught a bus from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia today. At about 10:30am, we heard a big "klunk" sound and the smell of burning tyres. After about 200m, the bus came to a stop and we had a flat tyre. The tyre was completely slashed! They had to put on a spare, travel backwards to meet with another bus (as too much damage …

... end up bumping into people you´ve met again - not entirely surprising I suppose when everyone is going to the same places, although not necessarily in the same order! The first traveller I met when I arrived in the hostel in BA, a Swiss chap called Stefan, e-mailed me the other day to say he was flying into Ushuaia, so we met for a beer and catch up, which was nice!

Next Stop El Calafate to see the Perito Moreno glacier.....
