      87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). Ausable Chasm was worth the stop...and provided a scenic hike. Colorful trees amidst interesting layers of rock were amazing!       Breakfast came with our room so we did not have to rush out and find a place to eat.


      We packed up Gypsy and headed out around 10a to try and explore more of Lake Placid. The weather was so cold, about 58 degrees, no sun.

      The flight was more stressful than I had anticipated. When we got about half way to Burlington, I could see a significant line of towering cumulous clouds across our path.
