    Odometer reading: 19,562 miles

    Well we've had our first mechanical trouble on this trip. Just after we gassed up and left Lake Placid, Phil had to pull over because his check engine and oil lights came on. We pulled over and checked it out with Uncle Jeff's help, but since the bike seemed to be running fine and we were in the middle of nowhere we had to press on.
