Because of the forecasted heavy rain in the region, some of the locks in the Erie canal have announced that they will be closing until the high water subsides. So far none of the locks on the Champlain Canal will be closed. We hope to get underway Sunday morning. Our first stop is expected to be Whitehall, New York.
After fueling up at the marina we had thought Meander would spend the winter at, we cruised down Lake Champlain with New York on the starboard and Vermont on the port.
