... tragedy that happened on a foggy night May 29, 1914. The Empress of Ireland, with 1,477 people aboard, collided with a coal shop in the St. Lawrence River. It sank in less than 15 minutes & an estimated 1,032 died!

One day we did a marathon 12 hours sight seeing finishing off the day at the 25th Anniversary of RCMP Sunset Musical Ride, a spectacular FREE event!!

... vote that had just been passed. It wasn't that exciting but it was kewl to see it and see what happens etc. After the tour was done we continued walking though the down town, taking a short afternoon tea stop at Timmies. We moved our car just before 6 o'clock down to another parking spot this time in the Byward Market area. We walked down to a small pastries shop called beaver tails where we had to try the pastry famous to Ottawa. We shared one and had it with Sugar and Cinnamon, ...

... only so much you can do with a jail if you want to turn it into a hostel without losing the character of the place, and I think HI has done a grand job in Ottawa. You do stay there more for the novelty than the comfort, and Kate has already picked up the name of a different hostel to stay in next time she is in Ottawa, but I rather enjoyed our stay in the single cell. Kate, however, has just googled the other hostel, and she tells me it's a go for next ...

Auntie Carrie and Uncle Roberts' house had bunny trails of white everywhere. It was all the evidence you needed to see what rooms he left goodies in. He is not the tidiest little guy, that's for sure! Footprints were left behind all day long.....Nonno tried to clean them up as best he could!

It took a long time to find all of the treats and I was so pleased, not surprised, to see that the girls shared everything ...
