... found a spot and made it into the park which was completely worth the hike! The redwoods are not to be believed! Their size is so difficult to conceptualizer. Our honeymoon lucky streak continued when we stumbled across a tree talk being given by one of the rangers. We learned about the tree (it contains tannin which is a natural bug, mold, and fire repellent) as well as about the park's history. ... here, this was real pressure. We needed to put this fire out to avoid the whole valley burning down. Remember those big wild fires in California a few years back, or the bush fires in Australia? ... of the day, talking and helping on projects. Matt, Matthew and Dana were the garden crew and worked on the garden plot behind the barn/inn/wine bar. They dug up plants to transplant, planted a post for a blackberry vine, picked a ton of mint, ripped out a bunch of dead grape vines and aerated the soil - extraordinary progress.
