    ... to a gondola fabrication and repair yard and a very scrumptious lunch including finishing with an espresso with a good shot of grappa. Following lunch Sara and the Tyler’s headed to the Coop Market at P.     ... we probably won't be able to access the apartment from the canal front courtyard door as the flooding will have covered the canal-side walkway. Already people are walking around with gum boots on. It must be interesting living here.

    Tomorrow (Sunday) we take the train to Florence, where more rain is forecast. We are thinking of upgrading our wet weather gear to the Italian heavy duty stuff.

    ... turning quite chilly and neither of us had much in the way of a coat with us decided to head back and go check into the new hotel. To get value for money, we took the train which was about a 10 minute ride. We actually managed to find the hotel in good time too!

    We are definitely in northern Italy, as the temperature this morning was in the teens (low 60s F). Although it was sunny when we woke up, by the time we exited the train station in Venice it had turned cloudy.
