... few occasions as I got stuck trying to capture that "perfect" picture of Venice….as if that was possible!! I knew that if I took enough pictures of canals, streets, windows and doorways, I might get a couple of good ones to share back home. It occurred to me that every time I turned around, there was a "million dollar" view that had to be captured by my Canon. Before I knew it, we had crossed back over the Academia Bridge and were strolling amongst the fashion shops ...

... crowded piazzas, doing a spot of shopping & enjoying the sights. We found a little cafe by a little canal for lunch. After Nanna returned to Noordam for a nap, I joined the queue outside St Marks, now much shorter and moving quickly. So glad I did as the interior was well with seeing, though no photos allowed. This site was (at some time, anyway) the final resting place of St Mark, so that meant we visited three of the ...

We decided to just grab a takeaway panini and some gelato to eat in our room for tea tonight. The rain fell and the thunderstorm that came with it was the perfect opportunity for us to have a relaxing evening, and an early ...

... we would pay to see it. It was a short walk from Campo San Polo. Along the way, we passed Chiesa San Polo and Chiesa San Tomo (all these churches we could've poked our heads into!). The Frari church, though massive, is plain brick on the outside. Inside, many impressive tombs line the nave, including the tombs of various Doge's, the one for Pesaro being the most "interesting" (it's a bit creepy). Continuing toward the altar is ...

... turning quite chilly and neither of us had much in the way of a coat with us decided to head back and go check into the new hotel. To get value for money, we took the train which was about a 10 minute ride. We actually managed to find the hotel in good time too!
