      ... and pastries, so we picked a couple each, and I had an amazing hot chocolate. Italians do it right!

      We'd organised to meet the American girls (Sam, Chelsea and Amy) in the middle of St. Mark’s Square, and proceeded to have our personal space violated by pigeons until they arrived. The pigeons there are so tame, greedy and overfed. They will fly up in your face and hair if there is the slightest suggestion you have food. Makes for good photos though!

      ... beer and then a stroll with the last of the afternoon tourists to get our bearings and see what was what. Lots of shops – leather bags, clothes, glassware, masks, masks, masks.       ... have taken no more than 2 hours took 5 1/2hours.

      So now I'm in Venice. You should see this place, it's going off. People are every where, it's crazy. And if I thought its been hot since I got here, well now it's just ridiculous.       ... a break at around 5 and the rain began to fall soon after. We went out for supper at around 8 for a wonderful seafood meal. The day before we learned about house wine from a tour guide. It is generally a wine made from a variety of grapes and is generally less expensive but we found to be very good. We had tiramisu for dessert. We wandered home in the rain and listened to it on the roof as we settled in for bed.
