    Syracuse's appeal is in its old town area of Ortigia with its narrow, ancient streets,
    old building facades with their many balconies, and its great location on the edge of the sea.


    Our apartment alone had 4 balconies.


    The very best of this stay was the excellent markets directly opposite us.

    We arrived at a place called Syracuse and the unit is pretty big.

    We walked to some markets at the front of the door.

    Dad, Riley and I went and saw squirting mussels and they almost got Riley and me.

    We drove to a town called Noto.

    Riley, Zara and I got these balls that have string and we bounced them like 1 metre away from us and they came straight back to us.

    ... on the way into the archeological park. We walked through a grotto that had loads of fruit trees in it. This grotto had a roof part way over it until an earthquake in the 1400's brought it down.
