    ... an event there the previous night so there were crews taking things down, but it was still a very awe inspiring memorial. And with the white snow covering it all around, it just made it so much more special. There is something about white snow that just seems right in a place like this. I was very moved and had to force myself to get to the museum to make sure I had enough time for the rest of my day.

    ... Altstadt (Old Town) in the center where the Christmas market is held. We were concerned about parking and traffic so we drove only as far as the s-bahn at Messe station and took the train the rest of the way there.     So why is Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge so relevant? The war would have been won by the Allies regardless. With severe pressure from the Russians from the Eastern Front and the Allies coming in from the West and South, the Germans were doomed. However, had the Germans punched a hole in the Allied lines, most notably the Battle of the Bulge, it could have prolonged the war much longer. The success ...

    ... risk it. Thus she got my yummy soup and i got her ceaser salad.

    After lunch we went and drank some more beer. Next was another dark beer, this also came with cheese flavored by feeding the cows the discarded wheat, malt and hops. It was great.

    The next beer we got was a blond. This was nice but not as flavorsome as dark beers.

    Once we had this beer we were basically ready to head back.

    Left for belgium this morning. Just entered the french speaking country and I read about some caves in liege, belgium that I will try to find.
