... Nelligan's and headed by car for a drive down to the Eastern Townships. A very scenic 120 km drive through wooded countryside with beautiful weatherboard houses being a highlight. It became very obvious that French was the preferred language and if not for Teresa's bilingual skills we would have struggled a lot. Even the road signs are in French so lucky we were not driving. Late in the afternoon we arrived at our overnight ...

... it one at a time, no massive surge, just orderly. They also line up along the curb, thereby leaving the footpath (sidewalk) free for other pedestrians to walk past. I was so amazed and impressed. Simple courteous behaviours, like these, make living and moving about a big city much easier. Also no one ran into me. Went to a store called H&M where you could buy t shirts for $6, jeans for $30 and 5 pairs of socks for about $12. Sort of Just Jeans quality so not bad at all. $200 later we had a bursting bag of purchases - what fun! Still haven't found a pink jumper I like. After lunch where ...

... one of the piers, from here you get a really good view of the islands I was at the other day. From here I walked back towards the hotel, taking a little detour down Saint Catherine's street to look at more shops. (There are a lot of shops here, most of them hidden underground) I got back to the hotel, picked up my luggage and walked the block to the bus stop. The bus ride took a lot longer then I was expecting, the peak hour traffic to blame, I glad I left myself more ...
