We left the hotel at five thirty to take the metro to Montparnasse, where we caught the country train to St Malo. The trip took about three hours it was very pleasant as we travelled first class.
I went just one day to Rennes. I thought it was really pretty since all of the houses are made of
It does rain a LOT.
There is mainly what is in every french city, bars, restaurants and shoe shops!
... the abbey there isn’t a whole lot to see at Mont St. Michel, it’s very touristy. We really lucked out with the weather this past weekend, it rained a little when we were walking around, but it definitely poured when we were driving. Someone was watching out for us.
Saint-Malo, Brittany, France liz.swind... 19th century viaduct spanning high above the port. It was beer o'clock so we found the old towns bar street and settled ourselves down on one of the outside tables. We tried two local beers a Picon and Affligate. Picon a dark beer but tasting like it contained lemonade (hmmm not sure about that one) and Affligate which was like a blonde Leffe - this was a good choice ...
Dinan, Brittany, France darrenhough74... seen from afar. It is definitely a tourist trap inside but it is really one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. When we got back to Bayeux we decided to go back to the wal-mart place and do some food shopping for dinner, breakfast in the morning, and lunch for the train ride back to Paris. It was kinda fun shopping with all the locals and we bought some pretty tasty sandwiches and salads. We were starting to get sick of paying so much ...
Bayeux, Normandy, France christineraymo... the English in their failed 1423–24 siege of Mont-Saint-Michel, are still displayed near the outer defense wall.

... I had been transfixed by it when we first entered the city. So, Grandma and mom headed to a Norman museum and I climbed up the ramparts. It was a massive and imposing wall complete with slits for archers and lookouts on each corner. It was built into a hill and over the years the grassy slopes has swallowed half of it. But the remaining section offered a brilliant view and mystical connection with the great warlord of Normandy.
