    ... and a sit-down in a creperie for ‘afters and coffee’ (this is getting to be a habit having our dinner back to front). Followed by yet more cobbles uphill and more decorative old buildings and back to the van about 5 hours later, cream-crackered. We had only chosen Josselin as a stop as it was about half-way to Rennes, our next main stop.

    Day Two: Loudeac & Pontivy

    ... As we still felt a bit tired after the journey, we decided to have a day visiting nearby local towns. We started at Loudeac, a pleasant small town about 20mins away. We explored it for a while and then sat in town square eating some tasty French bread and cakes from a patisserie. From there we then went to another small town, Pontivy which was nice and relaxing.     Took the car out to Piriac sur Mer today to explore the coastal area south east of Vannes. It didn't disappoint, nice old port and quaint coastal town. We stopped off for a lakeside walk in the village of Asserac on the way there, and coffee and a bit of shopping in Roche St Bernard on the way ...

    ... it is not as impressive, but like the aforementioned, it was created long before the dawn of the crane, and some of the stones are higher than I am tall. We also find a lake to walk the perimeter of and by the time we return to Ruby for a shower and an evening in with our boxset, we both agree it has been a lovely day.

    Travelled further into Brittany towards Vannes and I selected another 5* campsite, Le Huras in Monterblanc. Couldn't believe when we drove in that we have stayed here previously, 4 years ago! It is on the site of a second World War aerodrome with a parachute school on the old airfield next door. We stayed 5 nights as it's such a good location for exploring the area not ...
