... and many hike in from the little towns up or down the coast. The morning is quiet, as the sun rises to the serenade of the church bells the population rises, at times becoming loud and boisterous, ( that would be either because of a school trip with too many teens in one place, or a group from a Norwegian Cruise ), dwindling again in late afternoon. Manarola becomes a peaceful little commune about the time the sun sinks into the sea.

... to tourist info where we were informed that large sections of the 5 town walk were currently closed due to landslides early in the year. We were a little disappointed but the view was so amazing we knew that we could easily enjoy our time here.

In the late afternoon we orientated ourselves to town and took a walk on the esplanade. We went down to the pebbly beach for a swim with Phil excitedly jumping into the rough water first. We watched him struggle to get out of the water ...

We left Fiesole for the Liguria region-
Mick collected the car that we had parked in the free zone...only to find a parking ticket on the windscreen...WTF?. so, whilst the 3 headed off to the Posta (yep- the post office), I had the honours of trying to work out why we got a ticket..(even the hotelier at our villa said it was free again).
