... the steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook to sea. It is a National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Unfortunately in October 2011 there were floods in the area and this affected all villages especially Vernazza and Monterosso. There is a 9km path that runs along cliff edge from Riomaggiore (the first village on from La Spezia) ...

Going from Sestri Levante to Suvero where we would stay at the Cuccaro Club Hotel gave us the first taste of winter since spring was over.
