... had not noticed on the way up! There is a lesson in there somewhere.

At lunchtime, I felt glad to have had this tiring but rewarding three hour walk. The drive up to Dades Gorge only took a few hours. These gorges are part of the Haut (High) Atlas and are magnificent. We saw some brilliant scenery and unique formations on the way in. I camped again on an Auberge roof would you believe!

We passed Tazzarine later on in the afternoon having endured the afternoon rain. At the view point , my cursed Kodak stopped working. I am not a happy chicken. The drive up to Todra Gorge was absolutely striking nonetheless.

We arrived at the Auberge and set our tents up on the roof! Wow never thought I would do that but hey this is Africa!

... a 5 hour hike up and down the Todra Gorge. We climbed about 600 metres in altitude to the top of the gorge where is seemed like the top of the world. Along the way we saw Berber goat herders who live in the caves in the gorge most of the year. Once at the top we met a family of Berbers living in the caves and offered us tea.
