    The border control was the usual mayhem with all kinds of con artists trying to trick their way to tourists' money. I managed to ward off a couple of ladies who merely gave me the usual immigration forms to fill out, but then wanted $3 for their 'hard labour' as it 'was their job'. Then a chap who was trying to sell me a bus ticket to San Jose before I had gone through migration. He said that $12 was the price and that the cheapest was $11, but I stuck to ...

    ... it was fun, and very little alcohol being consumed, most of that had been done during the game. Most of the people were young but there were some older people in the mix as well, even the president of Costa Rica was there.     ... saw mostly traditional clothing but in the rest of these parts, we also see "Americanized" brands. They are often fakes, stolen, or used. I once saw a "Nike" shoe on a "Puma" sole.

    -Used American clothing is a big business here. The clothes you donated to a good cause are here for sale on the streets of Central America. Goodwill sells bags to them by the pound.

    -Clothing brands are not scaled to the level they are marketed to be. ...

    ... signed up for this tour as we were concerned as to how safe it was to walk around San Jose alone. The people that we came across seemed to be very family oriented, and friendly. Unfortunately the downtown area had more police than New Jersey will have during the Super Bowl. Obviously, safety is of great concern in downtown San Jose. For sure we won't be out walking around after dark.

    We get upgraded to the executive suit (naturally), enjoy some beers by the swimming pool and then meet our tour leader (or CEO - Chief Experience Officer) Cat and the group in the evening.
