... fine meal...although tipping is not expected in France, we did leave the family a little something to thank them for the unique experience!)

The chateau is perfectly situated for day trips so tomorrow we will be off to the Venise Vert and Ile de Re...more on that later! For now, back to languishing in the romantica room with a glass of champagne in hand, la-di-da!

Then an added prayer had been to have chance to talk about my faith in ...

Ok so missed yesterday. Driving so no internet. Lovely drive south. Told sat nav to avoid toll roads so had great route using main and not so main roads into an area south of the Loire en route to Royan. Very friendly site in the countryside with mixture of nationalities. Quite tired so cooked a meal and had an early night. Weather quite warm but not very sunny with the clear blue skies I had sort of expected. It's great to have daylight so late even end of ...

Laura, Iain and Sophia's last night before the ferry home and Steve arrived, looking tired until a few red wines were sunk..! We visited Parthenay where the young family went swimming and I later heard all about the pitfalls of a young child and that swimming pools, swimming costumes and baby sick don't mix... Thanks Laura!!! Parthenay was an old town worth a visit and we were lucky as a local craft fair was in full swing as we walked through the old part of ...
