This morning we caught a C-130 {slow propeller cargo plane} to Sicily. We landed and found that there is a flight to Germany in a couple hours. Tomorrow there are five or so flights to the East Coast. We are going to forgo exploring Sicily and opt to catch a flight to the US from Germany, and return to explore Sicily some future summer.....Susan really wants to try ...

... mal relaxen auf dem Deck angesagt. Um 18 Uhr nahm unser Schiff die längste Etappe dieser Kreuzfahrt in Angriff. Für uns aber hiess es Abendessen um 19 Uhr und anschliessend um 21.45 Uhr eine Show der Crewmitglieder der COSTA SERENA ("I have a dream") im grossen Theater. Dann folgte wie immer ein Streifzug durch die diversen Lokale. Am Schluss landeten wir ganz oben im Schiff in einem riesigen, zweistöckigen Raum mit Swimmingpool und aufgeschobenen Dach. ...

After got stuck for 2 days at a really nice spot we needed to leave even in the worst weather to Catania to catch the ferry to Naples. We passed LOOOOOOOOOOOOTS of Bunkers as you see in the second entry here - called: Fortress Sicily

At all it's a very rich area with alot of different faces. We will miss that island!!!
