Sans Soucis a sud. de France - Living French

    A Further Observation:

The French don't appear to have discovered, or embraced, the selfie-stick. I think we may have the only one in the country, unless there is a bus load of Japanese tourists about.

We have found a new and novel purpose for our selfie-stick; using the telescopic handle to hook and pull the prickly wild blackberry canes closer so we can pick the unreachable berries.

Found this in the 'International Foods' section at our local Intermarche. It's good to know it is available here but at approx $8, I'm glad we packed a small supply. Just hope we don't t run out.

    Au revoir.

p.s. Go West Coast on Friday. Will be cheering them on at midday from here.

There is a toll of €4.90 on the exit to the bridge. We follow the next off-ramp and sweep down into the town of Millau.

We stop for coffee at a small village cafe before heading back into ...

Today's route was brand new to us, from Orange through Gorges de l'Ardèche. I was a little bit excited to see how it would go. After a usual solid Ibis hotel breakfast, the whole gang except Mark, who left early, and Barry, who left VERY early on account of the hot temperatures expected today, shoved off. Getting out of town was very easy at about 8:30am on a Sunday morning with almost no traffic.

... banter, and snap a few photos before heading off past the famous Pont d'Arc (photo available on request) and on to our lodging just outside (i.e. up another hill from) Ruoms, where the roundabout encapsulates what the region is all about.

The climbs may not have been as long or as steep as last week's, but in the heat they are plenty tough enough. Looks like more of same tomorrow. Yay.
