... so we jumped on the train, after proudly purchasing tickets with no help from locals. A couple of stops later we decide which exit to leave the station by... and OMG - we walk up these steps and there looming in front is the Duomo itself. No words here. Just magnificent.

And then we are accosted by about 30 people trying to sell selfie sticks, good luck bracelets, scarves,... the sellers are everywhere, they are persistent, and actually a little but ...

    WEDNESDAY 10 JUNE

Ahh the feeling of waking up with no alarm, nothing planned and nowhere to be.

... of Milan. Talk about urban redevelopment! The Rose Kennedy Greenway has nothing on this.

I hope Emily's Harvard GSD classes studied this redevelopment because it's fabulous seeing Milan's tallest building, Unicredit (2011) surrounded by the lower red-tiled roofs below and all integrated seamlessly by an impressive huge plaza.

... the flag and gave the thumbs up and a fist pump! Marc got it on video but got a bit carried away with the flag waving that he moved the camera on an angle so it’s a bit lop sided.

The race was incredible and went a lot quicker than watching it on TV. Ricciardo ended up 5th which was a good result.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have any time to explore Milan as we were off to Florence early in the morning after checking out. Next time Milan, next time ...
