We will be staying Riomaggiore (one of the five villages) and have booked our accomodation already at Casa Lorenza We will be staying in apartment Nettuno.
What shouldn't we miss while we are here?
Monterosso, Italian Riviera, Italy frdrick... weird seeing her plate come out but I tried a little fish and it wasn't so bad. I decided to test out the after dinner drink Limonceno (lemoncello) for desert. Whoa! It was much stronger than I have ever had in the US. It was good but one was plenty as my throat was burning from all the alcohol. Then the waiter brought drinks that were on the house... oh lordy. It was a glass of a desert wine, very sweet, but after splitting a bottle of wine, my limonceno, and the wine I was ...
Manarola, Italian Riviera, Italy t.rosile... you. And as I sit here and write this I have a window in front of my face overlooking the ocean. It is mesmerising, it takes my breath away, it is like a piece of my heart was missing as I haven't seen water in over a month, considering how many walks along the lakeshore in Barrie I was doing before leaving home it was almost like coming home again, seeing something familiar that made me just feel happy and safe ...
Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy benitalutzTucked away along the Mediterranean Sea is a lovely little place called Cinque Terre (Five Lands). It is a collection of five fishing villages sprinkled along the steep and rocky cliffs of the Italian Riviera. The buildings are clustered pastel specs on the edges of the coastline. Surrounding these villages are uniquely terraced vineyards, which produce a white wine ...

Had seen it on Getaway and looked very pretty.. Found a hotel with sea views and have spent 2 nights here resting , climbing around local castles… eating sleeping and watching the boats go in and out… not much English here but we are not hungry or thirsty so all going well….
Tomorrow we are off to the South of France.. 3 nights planned in Nice.. Really looking forward to it but have loved Italy…
... had about 4 false starts then some of the jockeys werent happy so they jumped off, then the trainers had to go over, then the guy wouldnt pull the rope- what a disaster- the crowd was yelling and screaming at the officials and everything. It was starting to get dark and we thought we wouldnt be able to see it anyway. Matt joked that we would have to come back tomorrow and sit there all over again (we later found out that they have postponed it for being too dark before ...
La Spezia, Liguria, Italy leahymatth... place for a couple days, not really completely comfortable because you are in a tent or someone else's home, is exhausting. It will be nice to be at home again. July 13 Today we set off for our hike of Cinque Terre. We took a bus to the first of the 5 cities, had some breakfast, and started on our very long hike. We were lucky because the weather wasn't too hot, but I wore my swimsuit just in case. We were in the mountains, along the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea ...
La Spezia, Italy melissamia... place looked very similar to Port Botany (our hotel was located very close to the Port). We checked into our hotel, went for a walk around the port and headed for the tourist office to grab a map of La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. The lady at the tourist office told us La Spezia was a very small place; she then pointed us to the city centre, which was another 10 minute walk. Once we reached the city ...
La Spezia, Italy rbaluyot... I got to Cinque Terre after twelve hours of traveling. Were in a lovely b and b but the place is humid as all held, the most humid place Ive been to so far. I also think Im a bit numb to gorgeous coastlines, but hopefully that will change. A few things about Italy in general: - Amalfi is nice but Santorini is prettier. Make a note of that if you are planning on visiting one or the other. I think most would agree. - I ...
