Stayed at Affittacamere Patrizia Hostel in Rio Maggiore in Cinque Terre and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
When we got to the Hostel it was just an office and no one was there. Our keys were stuck to the door with instructions on how to get to our dorm room. There was another set of keys there too so we could have taken those too and ...

... and I had a wonderful 50th. Everyone sang to me in the small restaurant. Thank you everyone for following us and keeping us close with your wonderful comments. To sign off I will say that.....

Next day we had a sleep-in and then went for a run around the 4km city walls. Twice around was enough for Kim and I managed a 3rd. ... an exciting time. I even had a chance to truly see the team rivalry when a Napoli fan crossed over into our section…brutal! I was even pushed in attempts to get this guy out of the stadium.

I visited a quality control center in nearby Prato. I was exposed to a number of tests performed on products before they were put onto the market.

We had 3 different trains to catch to get to Cinque Terre. We had to change at Viareggio and La Spezia. Cinque Terre means five lands and which is actually five villages which are connected by train and by hiking tracks. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a national park which charges to use the lower hiking path and apparently closes it if it gets too busy. ... jackets didn't fit me right and the owner was a pain in the butt. Eventually I found another leather jacket store where they just sold them and I was able to get a really nice chocolate brown one for around 110 euros..but I had to wait for my jacket because they were going to hem the sleeves to fit. ... in town (after driving around for ages!). After dumping off our bags, we walked down to the town centre and made our way to this cute little restaurant up some stairs. The atmosphere was perfect. It was an amazing finish to a great day. As we had come out to 'the sticks' somewhat, no one could speak English which i think was definately a plus point. ... which, according to our map was just up a hill across the Arno River. We headed out for it and found a steep, steep hill. We climbed it but never made it to a resting point to take pictures. It turns out we took a little tour of the old fortress walls that were used to protect Florence. While they were neat it was a bit disappointing to walk all that way just to see walls.
