... enjoyed it. California has such a vast array of microclimates and each is beautiful in their own unique way. We did see and experience the incredible draught the state is experiencing. We stopped at three Napa wineries for tastings: Hagafen, Duckhorn, and Joseph Phelps starting at 10:15am ending at about 4:30pm. Tasted, actually sipped 19 different wines. Oh, correction, I had sips from 19 wines. I think Staci was able to finagle her way into tasting two more wines than the rest of us. ...

... winery. Interesting tasting notes... here's an example "hint of cigar ashtray and gun powder". Doesn't that sound delightful?

Next stop was at Dean & Deluca to purchase lunch provisions. Wow, this place made the pantry at V. Sattui look tiny! Stocked up with scrumptious food - chicken tenders, arancini balls, pasta salad, tomato & mozzarella salad, red velvet cupcake and a berry tart for me & Jeff.
