We arrived in Nice with high expectations having come here 12 years ago and loved it. After a relatively long drive from Beaune (Burgundy Region) we finally arrived in our destination. This was our first Airbnb that we booked on our own. There were a couple speed bumps...smelly towels, no paper towels, broken drawers...BUT the location was phenomenal and there is something to say about having ...

Sam lead us right into the heart of Monte Carlo where we took a break and enjoyed mingling with the...........it ...

... meal of spatchcock chicken with roast potatoes and veg..............brilliant!

The evening ended with a 'knowledge game' which, despite knowing many of the answers, the 'oldies' weren't quick enough to provide much of a challenge. However, given that the big prize was a leftover legume, we weren't too worried!!

So ends another great day in Fayence..............

... the edge......only to realise there was nothing between us and sure death...............the gorge is 700m deep and we were looking straight down!

Unfortunately, all the picnic areas were taken so we made do with a few rocks for a table and very successfully conjured up some great baguettes. Not before time as we were all starving! Then it was more driving to see the gorge 'proper'.

Gorges de Verdon is a hard place to ...
