      ... and bed.

We woke on Wednesday and enjoyed another French breakfast before walking down to the local markets. While the nik naks were tacky, the food was amazing. Genuine sun-dired tomatoes, an array of cheeses and a pigs head stuffed with many, many different meats (photo).

We swung past a bakery to grab some take away lunch (including a croque monsieur) and ate in the park.

I extremely dislike them, always have. Ugly fish snakes. What is your purpose?! We were all fished out and took in the city from the roof before walking back to the train station. ... br> Back in Cannes we regrouped at a cafe (with toilet) and worked out a plan.............motorway to Monaco and then take the 'scenic route'. We also gave the Twingo driver (Sam) total control and the rest of us simply followed. The temperature was knocking on 31 deg so it was all about staying calm and enjoying the view!

Sam lead us right into the heart of Monte Carlo where we took a break and enjoyed mingling with ...

... meal of spatchcock chicken with roast potatoes and veg..............brilliant!

The evening ended with a 'knowledge game' which, despite knowing many of the answers, the 'oldies' weren't quick enough to provide much of a challenge. However, given that the big prize was a leftover legume, we weren't too worried!!

So ends another great day in Fayence..............
