Decided to stay at the Villa & do the washing, catch up on blogging & just chill out. Headed down to the local supermarket Conad, which you can imagine what we nicknamed it, in the arvo for supplies for dinner. Numerous bottles of Prosecco were drunk & we feasted on another wonderfully prepared & healthy meal. It seems surreal that the 14 of us are in Tuscany, Italy. The most amazing thing is that we all managed to get ...

Paul to the rescue

We tracked south to Parma and then, west, and over a mountain range to Spezia back on the coast. From there we did a quick jaunt further south and inland to Lucca and where we are staying for the next 2 ...

It's name is Lucca...

... in so we could inch past a large truck and keep the mirror from scraping the hedged wall next to us. After all of driving stress we made it safely to Lucca, car and sanity intact. Lucca immediately put our minds at ease and relaxed us as soon as we entered it. The ancient city is entirely walled in...but feels surprisingly open and warm. The walls are now covered with flowers, grass, and trees which make ...
