    ... well worth a look. Three cars were driven the 8km to Lucca & eventually parking spaces were found & we regrouped in front of one of the entrances to Lucca. Wandered within the walls of Lucca. Very charming. Had bruschetta & a coffee for lunch. Decided to meet back at the gates at 3.00pm so people would be home for when the cook was due to arrive at about 4.30pm. Tiziana arrived at about 6.00pm. ...

    Paul also tested the local supermarket system, blissfully heading into the preferred customer queues and causing chaos. It appears that if you are a "member", you can total your own groceries as you shop, then go through an express payment sytem and exit. Paul was none of these and went nowhere fast. Survived to tell the tale, even returning with the list completed.

    The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you, Dear Lucca. Back to the train station for the shorter journey to Pisa, which took about 1/2 hour, and cost 13 euros in total for us both (return). Then established which bus to catch to get us to the 'Torre Pendente'. Should have only been a shortish ride, but missed our stop inadvertently and had to continue on the bus which returned after getting to the end of its loop. ...
