... it was on the way back. I didn't want to go in, I'd read that the exhibition inside isn't all that impressive. I pulled up onto the footpath nearby, took my photo through the rain, and headed back to the hostel. Fortunately the rain cleared up just as I was arriving, which was good because it meant I could walk to the supermarket and buy the frozen lasagne I planned to have for dinner. We cheered in the streets for a while until it got really crowded and we saw someone set off a flare in celebration. It's been a couple hours and we still hear horns and have hid the kids' ...

... even stranger.
I was able to hang out with a friend from high school while here because she was studying abroad. She gave us some great tips on the city. We took some advice and went up a parking garage to see the city. We were able to see the Eiffel Tower of Belgium called the Atomium which is a huge metal cube which balls at each corner. It represents an iron atom built for the world's fair of 1958. I was not thoroughly impressed by Belgium except for waffles and chocolate!

... train back so we looked through the stores which were there, got more chocolate and then rested in the lounge once we were allowed through. It was a relaxing ride back to London and with time difference we arrived just before 9pm which was good since we had work the following day.

Brussels was really cool. It was charming and quaint and for such a big city it didn’t feel anything like one. I would definitely go back!

Until next time,

Love Toni ...
