We left Kalibaru early heading to the ferry to cross to Bali Island. The time zone in Bali is different than Java by 1 hour, and we wanted to use as much time in Bali as we could.
The ferry to Bali is friendly, we did not have to wait muhc before we started crossing, but did have about half an hour wait before being able to dock in Bali. It …
... did not not dampen my pleasure. Both dive experiences were great, just a much different vibe here. CHILL would be the M.O.,and again, once I give in to it, I could not be happier. Ok, true confession....Jacques Cousteau and Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt (on tv, kids!) were heroes....and scuba diving lets me live out that fantasy...just a little. My dives off Menjangan Island today were wall dives to 30 meters, and these were the deepest and ...
... a choice but now that we have we feel like some kind of adrenaline junkie adventure sporter. It doesn't stop there either. We quite literally go offroad across the island the whole way back to seminyak. It is ******* crazy and yet mopeds are still doing suicide runs past us. We must have been through 15 little villages. Seen hindus, catholics and protestants alike getting ready for celebrating the **** out of tomorrow. Rice fields, 50 degrees slopes with rivers running down ...
... and my dive master. Unfortunately however the diving didn’t live up to the hype and was nothing special. The coral on the reef wall is good but the marine life was poor. There weren’t huge numbers of fish; no turtles; i only saw one small moray eel; the visibility wasn’t great; and the water was a bit chilly for my liking. On the positive side however i did see 3 white tipped reef ...
... sure that I could take up opportunities that presented themselves. I wanted to try and not say No to too much, to experience what I could while I was exploring the world. I did, however, have a few things (there may have been more) that I remember saying that I wouldn't do while I was away. First, I wasn't going to go into caves because I'm claustrophobic, and that stopped being true when I swam in the dark through a cave to a pirate grotto off Koh Phi Phi, and then again ...

The staff is very attentive, remembering everyone's name and making you feel like at home. The rooms nicely decorated, clean and the open air bathroom a highlight. It's a nice location to say when planning on going snorkeling or diving in the area, or when crossing from Java. Personal favorite moment at the hotel was the 5pm tea, when the staff serves tea and local sweets to all guests in the hotel.
