... life. After my air was getting low, we slowly ascended to the surface. We had gone completely around the island and were nearly on the back side now. We were facing a huge white temple on the land. There was another dock a little bit to the east, where the current was taking us. Boats were docked over there. Our boat had been to the west, no longer visible from sight. The current had been so strong it drifted us farther than expected and farther than the ...
Menjangan Island, Bali, Bali, Indonesia snclark8Lombongan is another island close to Bali and I headed over there with a friend from Flashback's. It was more of what I like in a destination - slow, rural, not even an ATM on the island, yet very interesting island life, gorgeous beaches, crystal clear turquoise water and spectacular sunsets. Indonesia is really famous for diving because of the diversity under the water. The water is really clear and the coral reefs are ...
Lombongan, Indonesia everywhere... rock and watching a turtle break off pieces of coral and eat his food for the day. We were probably 6 inches from his face, watching his "hands" and nose tearing off piece by piece. He didn't flinch or move when we approached. Occasionally, he looked up at us, but always went back to his work. We watched for 10 minutes and not a second went by when I wasn't fascinated by his mode and process of living: eating. We also saw a large squid, which might be my new favorite animal under ...
Gili, Bali, Indonesia snclark8... a little lunch, I went snorkeling around part of the island. Floating on the surface and peering into the ocean with my mask on, I looked into this other world. I held my breath, dove down, and felt more like I became a part of the world. Coral reefs and fish swam around me, not even moving while I invaded their home. They accepted me and let me in. Tons of fish surrounding me already! I couldn't wait for scuba! I walked around the island a little more, tried to ...
Gili, Bali, Indonesia snclark8... to anyone), our girls (Sujeni, Koming, and Wiwik) arrived at our house- their new afternoon hangout. We played a few little games with them like usual, but they were also at our house today for another special reason. We were taking them out to pizza! We got a taxi down to town although they would have preferred to ride on the back of our motor bikes with us. There was no chance we would risk taking them behind us on the motor bike. No way. The dinner was enjoyable for us older ...

... Our main highlights of the 6 days in Borneo were firstly, flying to the small town of Sandakan, then getting a speedboat for 2 hours across the South China Sea to the island of Pulau Selingan, which is part of Turtle Islands National Park. Its only 10kms from the Phillipines - you can actually see a Fillipino Island ...
Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, Malaysia adrian.gfc... 2 weeks ago), and stayed in Kuta Friday night and left Kuta Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm local time, five hours and thirty mins before the explosions. We are now safely in Borneo, travelling around for the week, but still feel shell-shocked. How could they do this to Bali again? And what is totally freaky is that I went to the 2002 bomb memorial on Friday afternoon to pay ...
Borneo, Malaysia adrian.gfcI visited the Pasola of Wanokaka and Kodi. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I enjoyed the sumba life which is laid back. You can find the post deserted and beautiful beaches here. Lived in the Kaka and Dapawole family houses. The people are very warm hearted and interested in the west. I was crowned Ratu Wumbu Wanokaka
