... noted for how far until Strandhill. We think we were halfway there when it started to rain and we realized that we were committed to going to Strandhill when a woman and her 2 kids stopped to pick us up!!! It was fabulous and the oddest thing all at once. A friendly stranger stopped to pick up two girls on the side of the road in this time of not trusting anyone and being afraid. On the way back a single guy who was going to Sunday dinner at his parents drove us back into town. We ...

We named the little car, 'Jumbo Murphy’ (Murphy being a Cork name). He’s now a good part of the family, sort of like a second home.
Anyways, we had a great time, and I think I’ll let the pictures tell it.
Thanks for the good times Helen, Cheers.

Woke up this morning feeling not so bouncy after staying up too late to watch the moofie. Had a quick shower, got the bags out in time and went to a world class breakfast. Too bad I didn't really feel in the mood or care. All I feel like we do is eat and sit on the bus on this tour and I am a bit sick of it!
Took off from Belfast and went through little towns with a quick toilet stop in some little fishing village (they are all ...
... hill of tara at the beginning of some 3 day festile, one year he saw a fire from one of the adjacent hills off in the distance, he sent his druids to find out who dare light a fire in my hood and so his guys went and checked it out. Apparently the guy was st. patick. He told the druids, something to the effect of "I light another fire in this land, one that shall never go out" and that was the beginning of christianity ...
Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland gfunk576It's 15 weeks since I got back from the big trip... that's three whole months of coping back in the real world: living with an alarm clock which must be obeyed; finding myself back in front of a class of obstreporous children, 5 days a week; paying unwelcome bills; listening to continuous doom-and-gloom news; adjusting to an Ireland deep in a recession and discovering the ...

Sitting on the beach watching the sunset was a treat. We sat and listened to the waves thunde r as they tossed around boulders the size of your head as if it was nothing.
Having a late dinner, I noticed that there were little heads popping up around our ...
... flocks of sheep skittering along the roads.
By evening we had reached Letterkenny, a stone’s throw away from the border with Northern Ireland, and were soon in the midst of our now well established pattern of finding a B&B for the night before heading into the town centre in search of a reasonably-priced pub dinner.
Co Donegal
Killibeg to Donegal
Gotta love this city!
This loop, from Ballintoy to Malin Head and down to Killibeg then Donegal was a tough ~ 175 miles ~
Peace agreement was not observed between political parties, therefore, curfew is mandatory and we have to stay in house. That sucks!
