... had headaches each day which I think is as a result of the pollution in the air. Our flight was only slightly delayed and we were sat relatively close to the front of the plane in Row 9. We were surprised that the plane was smaller than our regular domestic planes back at home. Usually there are 3 seats on each side with an aisle down the middle whereas Virgin Atlantic only had 2 seats on each side ...

Today was a long day followed by a longer night. Apparently my brain is still jetlagged, and enjoys waking me up at 1am and spending two hours going over all of my past mistakes and regrets in life. And then it realises that I'm 21, I've had a pretty fantastic life and that I have no solid regrets. ... we were only an hour away from their favourite island playground how could we resist, and it made for one of the best ways to round out our time in the US. Our time in Seattle was also spent visiting the huge public market downtown and sampling the local sweets, strolling the harbour front and watching the sunset from the top of the space needle. It was pretty perfect indeed. The only sad part was seeing the huge numbers of homeless people in and around the city. ...

... door!!! The sandwiches were incredible. We had a New Yorker. Proper corned beef, pastrami, swiss cheese and mustard. You should gave seen the amount of meat on this!!!! I told Liz we would not need to eat again today. Needless to say I couldn't quite finish mine. After that, we headed for the ferry terminal and went to Bainbridge Island. The trip took 30 minutes and cost us $8 bucks each return!!!! Talk about cheap!! Had a quick look around the town ...

... put me up for a few nights. My host here is awesome... She is a painter and has some really nice canvases in her apartment. This morning I had breakfast with an old friend, Mal, and it was great to see him. Seattle seems awesome so far and I am about to leave this coffee shop to explore. I don't know where I will go next but for the next couple days I am here. Maybe it was a little crazy, but now I can say I have hitchhiked from Minnesota to the West Coast. Peace and Love Ben  ...
